The Gloria Jeans Coffee franchise has been awarded the title of International Franchise of the Year by the Franchising and Licensing Association. This is the first time the International Franchisor of the Year Award has been presented. The organizers, Franchise and License Association Singapore FLA, together with PricewaterhouseCoopers, are using Singapore to launch this inaugural award. Global entries are invited through the World Franchise Council, with a total of 36 member countries in the organization.

The award is presented to the most outstanding franchisor recognized for its success and performance in its own country and acknowledged as the benchmark for all franchising businesses. Other franchising brands who were nominated for this prestigious franchise award included: Multiplus, Carls Junior, Pho 24, Zee Interactive Learning Systems, Fornet and Smart Reader. These international business opportunities evaluated based on the following criteria: Strategy, System, Marketing, Franchise Relations and Financials. There are 2 franchisee-owned Gloria Jeans Coffee outlets in Singapore, the first in Raffles City Market Place, and the second in VivoCity, both were launched back in 2006.

Gloria Jeans Coffee franchise hopes to open more units in Singapore in the coming months, they are already trying to source prime locations for their new units. The Franchising and Licensing Association FLA Singapore Award was launched to accord recognition to outstanding local and overseas franchisors operating in Singapore.

The Award provides a platform to showcase successful franchises operating from Singapore, thus facilitating further development of the franchise companies in both domestic and international markets. This years award has widened its scope to include franchisors from around the world associated with our sister associations who are members of the World Franchise Council.
