Mr F J Benjamin and the Gap fashion franchise signed an exclusive contract to open franchised Gap and Banana Republic clothing franchises in Singapore. Gap has since signed agreements to open franchised stores in the Middle East also.

F J Benjamin will possably open up to 20 retail franchises in Asia by 2010. The first Gap and Banana Republic franchises in Singapore opened last winter. Gap Inc. expects it could have over 90 Gap and Banana Republic franchise units in Southeast Asia and the Middle East by 2010.
